Blackwood Weed Walk

Join me, Caroline @ The Cottage Herbalist, as I take you on a tour through beautiful Blackwood, searching out the not so welcome 'weeds' amongst all the cottage gardens and beautiful Wombat Forest.

I'll show you not only how to ID these common weeds, but how to safely forage, harvest and process them. You'll be able to incorporate these weeds into your everday life as delicicous food and simple medicines. I'll share with you my favourite references for further foraging adventures and some great recipes too. You'll never look at the weeds in your backyard the same way! And of course we'll finish up our walk with a forgaed cuppa and wild weed inspired bite to eat for morning tea. 

Please note the weather in Blackwood is usually around 5C cooler than Melbourne, and the walk will still go ahead in mild drizzle and cold temperatures (we'll just call it Misty & Mysterious!). In heavy rain, wind and extremely cold conditions, the walk will be rescheduled. Please wear appropriate clothing - hat, water/weather proof jacket, gloves and comfortable shoes.

Accessibilty: The Blackwood Weed Walk is on both flat and steep hilly sections of paved, grassed and gravel ground through the town and along a small part of the Mineral Springs/Lerderderg River. It would suit moderate fitness level as the hills are pretty steep! I'm super happy to chat with you about accessibility for wheelchairs and prams.
